Pink Stain

The kids have sat in the same spots since they were able to sit in a highchair. Coop's on the south end of the table, Chloe sits on the southwestern side.

Under their chairs, there is a constant stain of some sort. It resembles pink yogurt, with a little oatmeal and possibly some pasta of some sort, all mixed together. It's dried so when I step on it, I only take away dried pasta.

I was sweeping the floor this afternoon. I swept over the pink stain and parts of the pasta came with the broom.

Why am I randomly telling you this?

I have a friend whose 2 year old son was kicked in the head by a horse. The dreams for their son changed that day. They now dream he will walk, talk, eat alone and read a book.

I quickly realized the annoying pink stain on my floor is something to be cherished. The pink stain is a symbol of the craziness that goes on in my house.

The pink stain represents the blessings I have.

Rearranging...

Here I am.

Where have I been? There's a couple of reasons as to my random disappearance. I'll bullet point them for you.

  • I kept getting random comments. For instance, one person was trying to get me to buy Mary Jane for my Multiple Sclerosis. I want to say this now! "I say NO to drugs" because my elementary teachers and parents taught me well.
  • I was getting "comments" informing me of the perks of stepping out on my hubby. Look, I love my hubby, but more importantly I love the Lord! Nuf said.
  • I was getting foreign commenter's leaving SPAM links to Asian porn! I had to wash my eyes out when I accidentally clicked on the foreign language, not realizing where in cyber space I was being lead.
  • People were trying to get me to go to their blogs. Here's the deal with that. I will read your blog if I know you or if I happen across yours. I do not read blogs because you ask me to. For instance with Twitter, just because you follow me, doesn't me I will follow you. I probably won't because I don't want to keep up with hundreds of people's thoughts. I only keep up with a few.
  • Some guy named Mike kept leaving a comment saying "Your blog has been recommended to us by another reader, we'd like to interview you." Ok Mike is it? I don't do interviews, especially when the only way to have to get a hold of me is by leaving a comment on my blog.
  • I was sick and tired of having to sift through the comments left and publish the ones I thought worthy.

The answer to these problems and more? I no longer allow comments, I took my Twitter roll off (sorry SIL), and I took a hiatus from blogging.

When I first began this blogging journey, it was for a release, for the world to hear my thoughts, for me to spread the Word. All that has become lost under the idiots dominating this blogger thing.

That being said.

Life in our house is super fantastic. I rearranged the computer to the marital room, so Coop could have his own personal space. Now maybe I'll write more since I won't be going into his room trying to type while he's napping.

There is also a little rearranging going on inside of me. I'm pregnant! Number three is expected December 4 or 5. We are really excited as this was an answered prayer by many friends and family.

Hope everyone is well!

Radical: The Book

A few weeks ago, I received an Advance Copy of the book "Radical: Taking Back Your Faith From The American Dream" by David Platt. When I got it, I thought, "This is gonna be just another 'be a better Christian' kind of book. But I'll read it because I said I would."

I am so glad I did! I don't know how to emphasize the impact this book has had on me and my views. I have been Radically changed!

I've wanted to write this post for a few weeks. I was tossing around ideas, words, and set up for this post on this book, but honestly, I don't know that my words can do it justice.

While reading through the book, I realized just where in my life I have been living in sin. Where I have been living this lie, this unbiblical truth we are told as Christ followers.

Where was I wrong? I'm not going to fully tell you. I want you to read it for yourself. I want you to read it, with a cup of coffee and an open heart. If you do those things, coffee is not necessary, you will be radically moved by the Holy Spirit.

I will give you one example of how the Holy Spirit punched me right between the eyes.

I watch the news, I see the wars, death, suffering etc. I see the sick kids in Africa. I hear the stories of war in poor countries. Then I cry a few tears, maybe can't sleep, pray a prayer, fall asleep and go about eating a not so nutritous breakfast. Still maybe thinking about what I saw, heard or read, but not doing anything.

Platt says, "...logic that says, 'I can't do everything, so I won't do anything,' is straight from hell."

And boy is he right. But the awesome thing about this book? He backs up his words with The Word, every aspect of it. I can see in Scripture exactly where I am thinking wrong and doing wrong.

Friends, I shoot ya straight. Those that have read my blog for a while, those that know me, you know I tell you how it is. Well, I'm telling you, this book is a must read.

David Platt is the pastor at the Church at Brook Hills in Alabama. He has free podcasts on iTunes.

This book releases in May, so I highly recommend reserving your copy through Mardel. And side note, if you don't follow Mardel on twitter you should. Here is their twitter name @Mardel_Inc

You can go to the book's website, enter your email address and get the first chapter. Or her e is a link to Mardel's site that contains the first chapter.

Great Wolf Lodge Pictures

The day we were leaving, I decided I had better snap some pictures of our trip so I can remember that we did this. I only brought my camera to the pool area for a few minutes because I didn't want to risk a thief or the dreaded water damage.

I do wish I had more pictures, but I don't. Here are a few.

Mesmerized by the talking trees and animals during story time.

Mesmerized by the planes that landed every 30 seconds at DFW.

Had a blast, but her lips stayed purple the entire time.

Has no fear of water.

This thing dumps a bunch of water every few minutes.

Playing together!

All of us!
We had a wonderful time. The whole way home, Matt and I couldn't stop talking about it. We are ready to go again. Except next time, I think we'll hit KC. It's cheaper and hours closer.

Semi Update

I've kind of fallen off the blogging wagon. I was hoping all you people following me would buy a shirt. If I'm being really honest, the turnout for donations this year has been weak. I don't know if the newness of my diagnosis is wearing off, but I am far away from my goal.

Anyways, if you want a shirt, buy one, if you want to donate, please do.

Other than that, we have been kind of busy I guess.

We just returned from a trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX.

I know everyone says, "It's so much fun." and I would think "Ya, whatev." But it really is a blast. I think when the kids are around 10, that place will be a total blast for all of us!

We met up with Matt's youngest brother and his family. Which was nice b/c we'd switch on watching each other's kids so us adults could play.

I recommend. But with these guidelines...

1) Go during the week. There are less people and you save a butt load of cash on your room.

2) With the exception of breakfast, EAT OFF GROUNDS! A medium pizza is $15.00 if that says anything.

3) If your children can't swim by themselves, go with someone so you can partake in the rides.

4) Go during the week.

5) Stay more than one night. We wanted to stay another night, but Friday nights are like highway robbery. The rooms almost double in price.

6) GO

7) Take more pictures than I did AND make sure if someone offers to take your picture as a family, they know how to work your camera. Or else you end up with this.

Blurry. *tear* This is the only picture of all 4 of us.
I'll post more Great Wolf pictures soon.

I'm new at this so, if I've missed something let me know!

ALL proceeds will be sent to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Spring Is Here

When I'm in the car, alone, with the radio off or sometimes with the radio on, I listen and I observe.

I love being in the car alone. It's good listening time.

On the way home from the kids' school, I was listening and thanking God for a wonderful morning. I was thanking Him for the nice weather, for the sprinkles of rain hitting the windshield and for the daffodils perking back up after the snow.

Then He whispered.

"Don't you find it funny, that people expect I will bring the seasons but don't trust I will be there for them?"

I pulled in the driveway and sat there. I looked to the neighbors house, their Bradford Pear is starting to green up and soon it will blossom. I looked at the neighbor across the street. She had a lone daffodil blooming in her front yard.

All of these things happen every spring. Or every fall the leaves turn a color only God can create, they fall from the tree and in 5-6 months they green up again.

It doesn't happen because of evolution! It happens because 'God is in Heaven and He does what He pleases' (Psalm 115:3)! Not because we planted the bulbs or because we throw out grass seed, or water our lawns. These things happen because God does it.

We expect God to bring the seasons, lets trust Him to bring seasons into our lives.
