Missing Balls

UPDATE: AS OF 2:00 PM CST, COOPER'S BALLS HAVE BEEN LOCATED. THEY WERE FOUND AFTER A WARM BATH, B/C HE POOPED IN HIS BED, IN HIS UPPER REGION OF HIS REGION. I CAN TELL BY THE MASS COMMENTS, ZERO, THAT MANY OF YOU DO NOT READ MY BLOG DAILY OR DO NOT CARE ABOUT MY SON'S MANLINESS AND FOR THAT, "SHAME ON YOU!" FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DO READ AND DID NOT COMMENT, PLEASE GET OFF OF YOUR KNEES NOW GOD ANSWERED OUR PRAYERS. APPARENTLY, COOPER'S BODY TEMPERATURE IS WAY TO LOW, SO "WE HAVE TO KEEP THAT LITTLE BOOGER BUNDLED UP!" SO SAYS HIS DAD.
Yes, that type of 'balls.'

Cooper's in fact.

I was on my death bed yesterday and have been resurrected from the dead today. Point being, I haven't changed Cooper's diaper in over a day.

This morning I was changing Cooper's diaper and noticed his little ball sack area looked really wrinkled and prunish, like if your skin is wet for too long. I thought, "His diaper isn't that wet. I wonder why he looks funny?"

So I went about my business... An hour later, I had to change him again, he pooped. I noticed his balls looked the same-gone! I called Matt, "Matt, do a guy's balls disappear?"
"What!?"
"Umm, I can't find Cooper's."
"If his are gone GO TO THE ER!!!" He says very concerned for his son's manliness.

I go and check one more time. Yep, they are gone. I try to warm him up thinking my hands are so cold it is causing 'shrinkage.' Matt had told me there is such a thing and that the Seinfeld episode is correct.

I try to warm him up by blowing on his diaper. It un-wrinkles, but I still can't feel them.
I give him a warm bath. It again, un-wrinkles, but I still can't feel them anywhere!

The dr's office calls back, "What's the problem?"
"Cooper's balls have vanished!" I tell her. I know she's thinking how I'm crazy.
I tell her the mornings happenings and my attempts to locate them.
"Well, lets go ahead and make an appt. for in the morning."

My thoughts.."IN THE MORNING?! WHAT IF THEY ARE GONE FOREVER AND YOU DID NOTHING!" I call Matt and tell him what the nurse said, "So is it not that big of a deal?" He's very concerned as am I.
"I don't know babe. I think she doesn't believe me. I think she thinks I'm crazy. But Matt they seriously are gone."

Cooper's balls are normally very visible. This has never happened. I tried feeling around his groin area and I don't feel anything and he doesn't act like he is in pain. He's so hard to read b/c he's so easy-going.

He's had very runny diapers the past few days and has not really wanted to eat any 'food.' He just wants a bottle and even then he doesn't finish it.

So my fellow mom's... Should I take him to the ER or is this just 'normal?'

  2. You hadn't posted when I checked in this morning or I would have left a comment. Something like...I have not delt with this with my boys so I don't have any words of advice. But you are the mom and if it concerns you then it should be a concern for your dr. Glad they've been found =)

  3. LOL I see no such update on my blog update updater. This is the first I have seen of the amazing disappearing and reappearing testicles.

If i had seen such an update on my blog update updater, I would have felt the need to comment the following:

"I'm sorry his balls seem to have disappeared. I'm sure they are still there. If they have ascended into his pelvis (which can happen), I'd imagine there's no point in taking him to the ER. They are probably going to tell you to wait and see if they drop. I'm 99% sure the only way to manually move them back into their normal hammock-like abode is to go into the OR and cut into your baby boy's skin.

I'd call his pediatrician just to make sure. I hope you find them soon! "

y'know, it is as cold as the atlantic ocean outside. Maybe the 'boys' thought it was time to go inside for a while?

    glad all is well!

  4. Oh my, I didn't see this until this evening...so glad they are found! I have never heard of that! But I have to share a story this reminded me of. When my son was an infant he woke up one morning and his pjs were bloody...of course I freaked! I took them off and it was coming from one of his nipples! I called the ER and tried to explain what was going on...out of nervousness about what in the world was going on with my son all I could get out is "I don't know what is wrong but my son's BOOB is bleeding!" The nurse asked me 3 times to repeat myself and finally my husband said "tell her his breast is bleeding!" So I did and she still responded with "WHAT?!" I got frustrated and just took him in so they could see with their own eyes...anyway, long story short he had an infection in his...well, his BOOB!
Being a mom is great! So glad your son has balls...I'm sure dad is happy they are no longer missing;)
